EC issue show cause notice to BJP's Abhijit Gangopadhyay over remarks against CM
In an audacious incident in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, two thieves devised an unconventional getaway plan during an attempted robbery at the Radhakrishna temple in the Barra 6 neighborhood. The peculiar incident was captured on CCTV cameras, footage of which got circulated on social media.
The incident occurred on December 20, as revealed by the timestamp on the CCTV footage. The culprits, mounted on horseback, attempted to remove the donation box from the temple premises. However, their audacious plans were thwarted by locals who intervened upon hearing the commotion, chasing them.
The CCTV footage depicts one of the thieves leaping over the temple fence while his partner waits on horseback. An attempt to uproot the donation box was unsuccessful meanwhile the local residents rushed to the spot on hearing the commotion, and the pair was forced to flee the scene. Despite chasing them, the duo managed to escape on horseback.
Acknowledging the incident, Dinesh Bisht, the in-charge of Barra police station, confirmed receiving information about the peculiar robbery attempt. However, he explained that no formal complaint had been lodged, leading to a delay in filing an official report. Bisht assured that the police would initiate necessary proceduresas soon as a formal complaint is submitted.
